Abinader will deepen the fight against corruption

Santo Domingo — President Luis Abinader said yesterday that in the next four years of his new government he will deepen actions against corruption and for transparency and ethics.

Abinader warned that he will not be considerate of those who incur in illegal actions, regardless of political factions and that those who screwed up should expect consequences.

The president said that the government is not a booty to be distributed among political leaders and that the government is going to serve itself and help the people who need it most.

“I want it to be clear that the government is not a booty to be distributed among political leaders. The government is going to be served and help the people who need it and it cannot be justified with past actions of the present,” he insisted.

Abinader reiterated that he has gone to the government to do things differently and that in his new term he will deepen the actions to control corruption.

The head of state offered these statements at the inauguration and delivery of the first stage of the 86 apartments in the Vista del Valle neighborhood, in San Francisco de Macorís, Duarte province.

He clarified that this project is part of all the sanitation and organization of the center of that municipality, to evict people who live in a situation that in many cases may be an emergency.
