King Felipe VI arrives for Abinader’s swearing-in

Santo Domingo.- King Felipe VI of Spain arrived in the Dominican Republic on Thursday to attend the inauguration of President Luis Abinader, marking the start of Abinader’s second term on August 16.

The King arrived on a private flight at José Francisco Peña Gómez International Airport, accompanied by his delegation.

Upon his arrival, King Felipe VI was greeted by Vice Ministers of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Opinio Díaz and Carlos de la Mota, Dominican Ambassador to Spain Juan Bolívar Díaz, Spanish Ambassador to the Dominican Republic Antonio Pérez-Hernández y Torra, and Francisco Cantizano Nadal, Director of State Ceremonies and Protocol at MIREX.
