Rains and heat forecast for several localities in the country

Santo Domingo – In the afternoon hours of this Sunday, downpours with thunderstorms and occasional gusts of wind are expected in several country’s localities.

The Dominican Institute of Meteorology (Indomet) reported that these rains could occur in Greater Santo Domingo, Monte Plata, San Cristobal, San Pedro de Macoris, Sanchez Ramirez, Monseñor Nouel, La Vega, San Juan, Elias Piña, Santiago Rodriguez and La Altagracia.

Hot temperatures are also forecast during the day and are pleasant at night and in the early morning.
Indomet also monitors two atmospheric disturbances with low to medium probabilities of becoming tropical cyclones.

The first is an area of low pressure over the northwest Gulf of Mexico, with a 10% probability of cyclonic development for the next 48 hours and 20% in the next seven days.

While the second is an active tropical wave east of the Lesser Antilles, it has a 10% probability of cyclonic development in the next 48 hours and 40% for the next seven days.
