Illegal racing on motorcycles after leaving school in Higüey; Digesett detains them
Through denunciations made by residents of Club Rotatorio Avenue in the municipality of Higüey, the General Directorate of Transit Security and Land Transportation (DIGESETT) arrested two students engaged in clandestine racing during school dismissal hours.
The students took advantage of the time they left Geraldo Jansen High School to carry out the clandestine race and calibrate the motorcycles they were using in this illegal act. During the operation, three motorcycles were seized, two minors were arrested, and the other student fled upon seeing the agents.
The DIGESETT director, General Francisco Osoria De La Cruz, P.N., instructed the regional director of La Altagracia, Colonel Santo E. García Moreta, P.N., to maintain greater vigilance at the exits of the zone’s educational centers to prevent clandestine races from continuing during school hours.
He also urged parents and representatives to be aware of their children’s activities after school to prevent them from falling into criminal or dangerous behaviors such as clandestine racing.
DIGESETT reiterates its commitment to ensuring the safety and welfare of citizens, promoting respect for traffic regulations, and encouraging a responsible road culture.
Catch them, take away the bikes long time, fine their parents, make them stay after school for a month, and perform community service at the hospital.
