Abinader announces start of infrastructure projects funded by Aerodom agreement

Santo Domingo.- President Luis Abinader announced that several infrastructure projects funded by the initial payment from Aerodom are already underway, with a significant focus on road improvements across the country. He highlighted the “unprecedented” investment in asphalt paving, especially in Santo Domingo and surrounding areas.

Key projects include the tunnel at Plaza de la Bandera and the elevated road at Pintura and Isabela Aguiar Avenue, both progressing due to well-prepared designs. He also mentioned the road connection between Abraham Lincoln and Jacobo Majluta, which is delayed due to expropriation issues. The Jacinto Peynado bridge is being redesigned, and a new bridge to replace the floating bridge over the Ozama River is in the design phase and will soon be put out for tender.

The $775 million agreement with Aerodom allocates $350 million for paving projects in La Caleta, Boca Chica, and Greater Santo Domingo, $148 million for the expressway from Plaza de la Bandera to 6 de noviembre, and $108 million for the Avenida República de Colombia and Jacobo Majluta road solution, among other projects.
