PUERTO PLATA .-  A large number of bathers have packed the different beaches of this tourist resort located on the Atlantic coast of the Dominican Republic, taking advantage of the long holiday of Holy Week.

Citizens of all ages have flocked to the beaches: Teco, Cofresí, Costámbar, Poza Del Castillo, Acapulco, Long Beach, Marapicá and Playa Dorada, located in the San Felipe municipality of Puerto Plata.

The massive influx of vacationers who are staying at the hotels of Maimon, Playa Dorada, Sosua, and Cabarete, has also resulted in the famous beaches of these tourist locations being packed full.

Also, in the west end of Puerto Plata, thousands of bathers arrived and will continue to arrive in hundreds of vehicles to the Punta Rucia, and La Ensenada beaches in Villa Isabela municipality. Many will also partake in aquatic excursions to the coral island of Cayo Arena.

The strict surveillance and preventive work are highlighted, which is carried out in all the beaches of Puerto Plata, by agents of the National Police and the Specialized Body of Tourist Security ( CESTUR ), in addition to volunteers of the relief agencies.

In the same way, several opposition leaders and pro-government political leaders have placed themselves at the entrance to the beaches of this jurisdiction to wish the vacationers a pleasant stay, urging them to be cautious and enjoy the holiday in family harmony.
