New study confirms Dominican diaspora’s generosity: Ding
NY. – As the US’ fifth largest Hispanic group it’s not surprising there are around 1.5 million Dominicans or descendants living in the US looking for ways to send a little help back home.
Ding, the largest provider of international refills, recently released a study showing Dominicans in 2014 sent 135% more refills than in previous years.
“This remarkable increase makes the Dominican Republic one of the fastest growing countries in receiving cell balance,” said Ding CEO Mark Roden.
Although the study didn’t specify the reason behind growth within the Dominican community, Roden calls it simple: "It’s the ability to send small details home instantly. Traditionally sending money is often impractical. Ding delivers recharges in just 3 seconds, allowing an immediate connection."
