US Embassy and Defense Ministry sponsor ophthalmic treatment

Santo Domingo – The USEmbassy with the Defense Ministry will carry out the fourth "OphthalmicSurgery Day" led by the medical team Madigan US Hospital Military and the ArmedForces Central Hospital. Patients will be evaluated for free on 28, 29, 30 andOctober 31.

This medicaloperation is being performed for thefourth time in Santo Domingo and is focused on providing ophthalmologic surgeryservices completely free for adults, but mainly children requiring surgery willalso be assessed.

The surgeries will beperformed during the day will be to correct cataracts, strabismus, eyeliddeformities, pterygium, among other minor eye surgeries.

The medical effortbegins on October 28 and ends November. In a first stage it will work withpatient assessments Wednesday 28, Thursday 29, Friday 30 and Saturday October31 in the Central Hospital of the Armed Forces from 8am. The surgeries willtake place from November 2 to 11 at the Central Hospital of the Armed Forces, headedby more than 21 professionals Madigan Military Hospital Joint BaseLewis-McChord in the United States.
