Colon passes Marichal as Dominican pitcher with most wins

Kansas City.- Texas Rangers starter Bartolo Colon is now Dominican Republic’s top winning pitcher, with 244 in his career.

Colon passed Major League Baseball Hall of Famer Juan Marichal for the honor, holding the Kansas CIty Royals to three runs in six innings in the Rangers’ 6-3 win at Kauffman Stadium Monday night.

The veteran eyes one more milestone: He needs one more win to tie Nicaraguan Dennis Martinez, as Latin America’s winningest hurler.
