Santo Domingo Open of tennis starts today

Santo Domingo.- The Santo Domingo Open 2019, the biggest Challenger tennis tournament in Latin America, starts today Monday at the Santo Domingo Tennis Club (La Bocha) where more than 60 professional tennis players from around the world will compete.

The event distributes this year a purse of US$162,480 among the doubles and singles participants, and awards 125 ATP points for the champions of both modalities.

Argentina’s Federico Delbonis, finalist of the last edition, is this year’s top seed, followed by Bolivian Hugo Dellien and Argentine Leonardo Mayer, all three in the top 100 of the ATP.

The list of Dominicans will consist of José (Bebo) Hernández, Roberto Cid, Nick Hardt, José Olivares, Peter Bertran and Víctor Estrella, who announced his retirement last week.
