Rebuilt 40-km Northeast road ready by month’s end: Official

Santo Domingo.- The Public Works Ministry’s chief of operations affirmed Wednesday that the reconstruction and paving of the 40-kilometer El Seibo-Miches (northeast) road will conclude by the end of January.

Ramón Antonio Pepin inspected the work on the highway, which is part of the first stage of the East Region Road Grid. "Given the road’s importance, president Danilo Medina ordered its total reconstruction to benefit both towns and various adjacent communities."

He said the work is a total recovery of the road, including traffic signs and signals, adding that the work scheduled aims to conclude it by January 30, after which the inaugural date by Medina will be set.
