Like ‘the’ Virgin: Dominican Miss Universe

Santo Domingo.- Dominican Republic Miss Universe, Kimberly Castillo will literally look like a virgin during the traditional country costume parade in the pageant to be held in Miami on Jan. 25.

The Virgin of la Altagracia, patroness of the Dominican people, is pictured with a starry backdrop on the typical attire Castillo will wear during the competition.

Top designer Leonel Lirio gets credit for the artwork which exalts the Virgin, whose sanctuary is precisely in Higuey Castillo’s hometown in eastern La Altagracia province.
