US Embassy cuts wait time for families with kids under 14

Santo Domingo.- The US Embassy in Santo Domingo on Friday announced it will discontinue the drop-box program and require parents wishing to travel to the US on vacation with their children under the age of 14 to attend an interview on their behalf. “It’s therefore not necessary for children under  the age of 14 to attend the VAC or the Consular Section for travel visa applications and are urged not to take them.”

In an emailed statement, the US Embassy said the measure is part of its Consular Section’s ongoing efforts to reduce the waiting times and processing for non-immigrant visa applications for all applicants, including families traveling with their children.
