Dominican diplomats will tout the country’s tourism charms

Santo Domingo.-  Dominican Republic’s foreign service offices abroad will promote their country’s tourist attractions, the ministers of Tourism and of Foreign Affairs announced Wed..

Francisco Javier García, and Miguel Vargas signed an agreement in which the Foreign Ministry’s diplomats and consuls will work to maintain and promote tourism.

Garcia said the initiative will have a great impact on the country’s tourism development.

“Not only are we a leader in receiving tourists in the Caribbean, we’re also the one which generates the most foreign currency. The Dominican Republic is the number one generation of foreign currency which has turned it into an investment manager.”

For Vargas, the agreement will save administrative expenses and efforts abroad, because the nation will have a presence in countries where there are no tourism promotion offices.
