Washington backtracks, Dominican Republic is safe for tourists

Santo Domingo.-  United States ambassador, Robin Bernstein, on Tues. said that most of the visitors from her country who’ve come to the Dominican Republic haven’t had any problems related to crime.

“The vast majority of the citizens who visit; Americans and citizens in general who come to the country have no difficulty,” Bernstein said when asked to comment on the US State Department ‘s warning to its citizens to take precautions to secure their safety

The diplomat, who spoke in the Citizen Security Fair organized by the National District City Council, the Interior and Police Ministry and the support of the Agency for International Development (UASAID), also reiterated Washington’s support for public safety.
