Expert rebuffs ‘dangerous destination’ label

Santo Domingo.- For tourism security expert and former Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) operative Matthew Bradley the Dominican Republic is not a dangerous place for tourists.

The statement responds to a publication of the weekly TIME, titled “Five tourists from the United States have died in the Dominican Republic since April. Should you cancel your trip?”

The article quotes Bradley, whose answer suggests not canceling the reservation to visit the country.

“It’s not too dangerous a place. I would still consider the Dominican Republic as a safe place to go,” said the also director of Regional Security International SOS.
