Tourism readies to receive Chinese visitors

Santo Domingo.- The Government of China has initiated a program with the Dominican Tourism Ministry to facilitate the arrival of Chinese tourists to the Dominican Republic as part of the agreements between both nations.

A Chinese delegation, headed by the president of the Chinese Tourism Academy and the deputy general manager of Hainan Airlines, the main Chinese private carrier and the fourth in passenger volume in Asia, arrived in the country to instruct the main representatives of the Dominican tourism sector about what the Chinese usually require to visit a tourism destination.

Dai Bin, who in addition to president of China’s Tourism Academy, is director of the National Tourism Data Center, will work with Dominican tourism entrepreneurs so they can adapt their facilities to the demands of the Chinese traveler.

Exchange

Each year an estimated 130 million Chinese go on vacation abroad, and since the Dominican Republic and China established diplomatic relations, there’s a heightened interest in attracting part of them.
