Santo Domingo.- The tourism sector on Tues. readied its security protocol to deal with the possible landfall of Tropical Storm Dorian in the eastern part of the country.

“The tourism sector in the Dominican Republic closely monitors the path of the storm Dorian and is ready to take all necessary measures to ensure the safety of tourists visiting this Caribbean country,” said Tourism minister, Francisco Javier García.

He said all Dominican tourism facilities have a security protocol, “which they will execute, if necessary, to the letter.”

“We trust that nothing extraordinary will occur, as on other occasions, but we are prepared to apply the security protocols in each of our hotels and other tourist centers, if necessary.”
