Authorities address tourism security plan in Puerto Plata prior to high season

The Ministry of Tourism ( Mitur ), the Specialized Tourist Security Corps ( Cestur ) and local authorities met with representatives of the tourism sector of Puerto Plata in order to address important issues prior to the start of the high season.

The meeting was coordinated by the Vice Minister of Tourism of the North Zone, Julio Almonte and the North Regional Director of Mitur, Jakaira Cid, who highlighted the importance of planning team operational strategies to achieve the best results in favor of this destination.

In that sense, Almonte highlighted the instructions and support of the Minister of Tourism,  Francisco Javier García, to develop the necessary actions and continue to offer tourists the best services with the highest level of quality in this important winter season.

On her side, Cid, presented the three fundamental themes of the meeting, the first of these being the implementation of a program of activities for next winter, in second-order, the correct operation of the manual on security camera placement was discussed. in hotel properties and tourist establishments, and finally, participants discussed the protocols to be implemented in emergencies, according to a statement.

In the meeting, which was held in the provincial tourism office in la Novia del Atlántico, Osvaldo Bonilla, Attorney General participated; Colonel José Brazoban, director Cestur; Colonel Cesar Severino, Commander North Air Force; Colonel Francisco Pérez, director of the North National Police.

Also Colonel Fernando Cruz, Director General Directorate of Traffic Safety and Land Transportation ( Digessett ), Captain Juan Polanco, Director Road Assistance, Ministry of Public Works and Communications ( MOPC ) and Huáscar Rodríguez, Director of Civil Defense.

The private sector attended: Sharon Mei, director of Puerto Amber CoveEnrique Pacheco, director Gregorio Luperón AirportCesar José De Los Santos, president of the Playa Dorada Hotels Association; as well as Kathy Morillo, director AshonorteMaría Veras, executive director of the Sosua & Cabarete Hotels Association, representatives of tourism projects and the different hotel managers throughout the area.
