Dominican Gov. enforces protocol compliance in hotels

Santo Domingo.- The ministries of Tourism and Public Health on Thur. began the inspection of hotels and companies in the sector within the framework of compliance with the health protocol implemented by the authorities, after the reopening of tourist activities on July 1.

The inspection, which formally began at the Hotel El Embajador, at Royal Hideaway Santo Domingo, was led by Yarín Casquero, director of Tourism Companies and Services at MITUR, in the presence of Ventura Serra, director of the Barceló Santo Domingo Urban Hotels.

Casquero said the reviews, together with Public Health, are conducted for the purpose of verifying compliance with the protocols that are already being applied in the tourism sector and that seek to guarantee the health of tourists and collaborators who participate in companies that provide their services and include all the subsectors of the tourism industry in the country.

The official stressed that they will be extended to all the hotel centers of Santo Domingo and tourist centers nationwide, carried out by specialized personnel who will verify the faithful compliance with said protocols, based on everything that is protection of the health of tourists in prevention of COVID-19.
