Adompretur to attend Ibero-American Meeting of Tourism Journalists in Uruguay

Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Association of Tourism Press (Adompretur) will participate in the Ibero-American Meeting of Tourism Journalists, to be held in Uruguay from Monday, August 28 to Thursday, September 1.

The Dominican delegation will be headed by journalist Yenny Polanco Lovera, president of Adompretur; and Luis José Chávez, president of the Ibero-American Forum of Tourism Journalists (FIPETUR).

According to Polanco Lovera, the event, organized by the Circle of Tourism Journalists of Uruguay (CIPETUR) and FIPETUR, with the support of the Ministry of Tourism of Uruguay (MINTUR), will include FIPETUR’s Annual Assembly and elections.

She emphasized that “for Adompretur it is a great opportunity to attend this meeting that will highlight the importance of tourism for our Latin American countries, where ministers show their interest in creating alliances and strategies that allow for the further development of tourism. An example of this was the 118th meeting of the Executive Council of the World Tourism Organization held in the Dominican Republic in which more than 35 countries and 200 delegates participated.”

The Adompretur president added that “with this participation we join the experts worldwide who will analyze the advances, experiences, strategies and challenges before the future that awaits us, in which journalists specialized in tourism are an essential part for the creation and promotion of content.”

Along with other journalists from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Spain, Peru and host country Uruguay, Yenny Polanco Lovera and Luis José Chávez will be received by the Minister of Tourism, Tabaré Viera Duarte; and other Uruguayan officials.

The agenda of this meeting also includes visits to the attractions of the South American nation, among them Colonia del Sacramento, Punta del Este and Montevideo.
