Baní Tourism Cluster hosts discussion with Frank Rainieri

Puntarena, Baní.- The Baní Tourism and Productive Cluster recently sponsored a discussion in Puntarena featuring Frank Rainieri, founder of Grupo Puntacana. The event aimed to foster development in the province of Peravia.

Juan Tejeda, president of the Tourism Cluster, emphasized the significance of Rainieri’s interest in Baní and its natural resources as a potential new tourism hub in the southern region.

Peravia, recognized as the eighth tourist center of the Dominican Republic, boasts an exquisite gastronomic scene, unique cultural elements such as the rhythm of Sarandunga, and natural attractions including the dunes of Las Calderas, beaches, rivers, waterfalls, springs, and mountains.

During the conversation, Rainieri shared anecdotes from his experiences in the tourism industry and answered questions from the attendees. He underscored the importance of vision, perseverance, and hard work as essential for success in any field. Additionally, he highlighted Baní’s potential to develop its fishing and sailing niches as unique tourist attractions.

“For me, it is a privilege and an honor to share my experiences in various national and international forums. I like to emphasize the importance of tourism, as it is one of the fastest-growing industries globally. Tourism mobilizes societies because it touches all areas of a country’s life, enabling social advancement and, consequently, bringing peace,” said Frank Rainieri, founder and president of the Board of Directors of Grupo Puntacana.

Tejeda, who also moderated the discussion, stressed the importance of this platform in promoting the natural wealth, values, benefits, and customs that define the cultural identity of the Southern region, particularly the town of Baní.
