After primary setback, ex-president’s supporters stage protest

Santo Domingo.- Supporters of former President Leonel Fernández will demonstrate tomorrow at 10:00 am in front of the Central Electoral Board, according to Rafael Núñez, press officer of the former president.

The protest is to demand the annulment of the internal primaries of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD), after yesterday’s virtual win by Gonzalo Castillo, backed by President Danilo Medina.

“The Dominican people will demonstrate peacefully this Tuesday at 10 am in front of the Central Electoral Board in Plaza de la Bandera to demand the cancellation of the PLD primaries,” Nunez tweeted.
