French Ambassador to the Dominican Republic holds meeting with DNCD President

Santo Domingo.- The newly appointed French Ambassador to the Dominican Republic, Her Excellency Sonia Barbry, met with Vice Admiral José M. Cabrera Ulloa, head of the National Directorate for Drug Control (DNCD), to discuss collaborative efforts in combating drug trafficking and transnational crime.

During their meeting, both officials emphasized the importance of continuing cooperation agreements to address drug trafficking and related crimes. They also committed to strengthening the Caribbean Region’s Program to Support the Fight Against Organized Crime (ALCORCA), an initiative led by France.

Vice Admiral Cabrera Ulloa highlighted that the ALCORCA Program has successfully trained 1,400 agents in interdiction and intelligence operations, significantly enhancing the operational capacity of Dominican law enforcement. The Dominican Republic reiterated its dedication to maintaining strong relations with France and other allies in the ongoing fight against organized crime in the region.
