Over 160 groups bring color to the 2025 National Carnival Parade

Santo Domingo.- More than 160 carnival groups from across the country filled the Santo Domingo Malecón with color during the 2025 National Carnival Parade, organized by the Ministry of Culture. This year’s event, dedicated to San Cristóbal, emphasized environmental preservation, with costumes made from recyclable materials and themes highlighting nature and agriculture.
Culture Minister Roberto Ángel Salcedo described the parade as a reflection of Dominican identity and creativity, reinforcing the Ministry’s commitment to cultural revitalization. Extensive security measures ensured a safe experience for attendees.
The 2025 Carnival Kings are Luis Rivas, creator of the Ecological Devils, and renowned communicator Jatna Tavárez. The Ministry of Culture has allocated over 5 million pesos in prizes, with the top award reaching one million pesos.
