Dominican border remains stable amid escalating violence in Haiti
Haiti.- Despite escalating violence in Haiti, where armed gangs control approximately 80% of Port-au-Prince, the Dominican border remains calm and secure under military surveillance. Although Kenyan police forces have recently arrived in Haiti, clashes between gangs and law enforcement persist, further destabilizing the capital.
On the northern border, however, community leader Casiano Lora reports that daily activities continue uninterrupted, with military forces ensuring a stable environment. “The market is operating normally; goods flow in and out, and trade continues as usual,” Lora stated, emphasizing that cross-border transactions remain unaffected amidst the unrest in Haiti.
