Bishop calls for immediate action on Verón/Punta Cana land use plan

Higüey.- Monsignor Jesús Castro Marte, bishop of the Nuestra Señora de la Altagracia diocese in Higüey, called on authorities to urgently implement the territorial planning plan for Verón/Punta Cana, stressing its critical economic, social, and legal significance for the Dominican Republic.

In a post on his X account, Castro Marte emphasized the need to avoid further delays in this high-priority project, pointing out that President Luis Abinader has repeatedly highlighted its importance but that no action has yet been taken.

Reiterating Abinader’s calls, the bishop questioned why the project remains stalled, urging immediate action on this essential national initiative.
