Haitian couple attacks medical staff at Darío Contreras Hospital

Santo Domingo.- A Haitian couple caused a violent altercation at the Darío Contreras Hospital, attacking medical staff after the husband, aged 28, was admitted to the emergency room. The couple reportedly became enraged, assaulting doctors and nurses with punches and kicks. The man also brandished a knife he had smuggled into the facility.

Although briefly detained, the couple managed to escape during the arrival of another critically ill patient. Their identities remain unknown, prompting the police to initiate a search to locate and arrest them.

César Roque, the hospital director, issued a statement condemning the attack and expressing concern for the safety of medical personnel.
