Social assistance plan delivers emergency aid to flooded communities in Valverde
Valverde, Mao.- In response to the severe flooding caused by heavy rains in several communities in Mao, Valverde, the Social Assistance Plan of the Presidency has dispatched emergency kits to support the affected families. Since early Tuesday, residents of areas like Las 300, Yerba de Guinea, and Duarte Street have been receiving essential supplies, including mattresses, sheets, mosquito nets, water bottles, and food rations.
Yadira Henríquez, head of the Social Assistance Plan, also mentioned that the institution is working on home and roof repairs through its “A Plan for Your Community” initiative. Surveys are being conducted in affected areas to assess the damage and plan repairs. Henríquez emphasized that the relief efforts were launched promptly after receiving reports of the disaster, with coordination among the Rapid Action Brigade, local authorities, and community organizations.
The assistance is part of ongoing efforts to support the affected communities, ensuring that the recovery process includes both immediate aid and long-term solutions for rebuilding homes.
