Spanish Chamber of Commerce celebrates 100 years in the Dominican Republic
Santo Domingo.- The Official Chamber of Commerce of Spain in the Dominican Republic (CAMACOESRD) celebrated its 100th anniversary with a gala dinner attended by Vice President Raquel Peña, government officials, diplomats, and Spanish Chamber members. The event was hosted by Paco Pérez, the Chamber’s president, who reflected on the organization’s century-long contribution to strengthening business relations between Spain and the Dominican Republic. He highlighted the Chamber’s role in supporting Spanish companies’ integration into the Dominican market, facilitating the entry of Dominican companies into Spain, and fostering cultural connections between the two nations.
Pérez emphasized that the Chamber’s success is due to the dedication of past leaders and the contributions of its affiliated companies, ranging from small enterprises to large corporations. The celebration also included the recognition of several former Chamber presidents from the last three decades and a special award for Font Gamundi, a member for 100 years. The event was attended by various distinguished figures, including ministers, diplomats, and business leaders, underscoring the ongoing importance of the Chamber in promoting trade and investment.
Throughout the year, CAMACOESRD has held several activities to commemorate its centennial, reflecting on the institution’s legacy and looking forward to new challenges in a globalized, digitalized economy.
