Santo Domingo.- The Government of the Dominican Republic on Wednesday warned that it rejects the path of military intervention against Venezuela after the activation of the Inter-American Treaty of Reciprocal Assistance (TIAR).
Dominican Foreign minister, Miguel Vargas, affirmed that Santo Domingo reiterates his “rejection of foreign military intervention” and expresses his “support for a negotiated and peaceful solution in the case of Venezuela.”
“The vote in favor of the TIAR consultation body meeting seeks to openly discuss the Venezuelan problem and the tensions that have arisen in the region,” said the diplomat in the statement.
