First-ever openly gay U.S ambassador arrives to bolstered security

Santo Domingo.- The arrival of Washington’s firs ever openly gay ambassador in the country has prompted the U.S. Embassy officials and Dominican authorities to bolster security at Las Americas International Airport, local media report.

James “Wally” Brewster’s arrival in the country is imminent on Thursday, but the precise time on which the new diplomat’s flight reaches the terminal wasn’t disclosed on security concerns.

The delegation of U.S. diplomats met with airport security officials and airport management company (Aerodom) executives to conduct a brief inspection of the various areas prior to Brewster’s arrival.
