Senate chief says only Medina should refer to controversial ruling

Santo Domingo.- Senate president Reinaldo Pared on Wednesdayurged officials to let president Danilo Medina handle the fallout from the constitutionalcourt ruling on the conditions for Dominican nationality.

He said it’s up to the President to dictate foreignpolicy, for which statements and decisions are of Medina’s exclusive competence.

The National District senator said it’s neither advisablenor appropriate that officials continue opining of the controversial issue. "Withoutasking anyone to shut up…, I think those views could often affect the way thatthe Government proceeds."
