The First Lady of the Republic requests “zero tolerance” for the agent responsible for the death of Donaly Martínez

Raquel Arbaje, the first lady of the Republic, stated on Tuesday that she is waiting for the circumstances surrounding Donaly Martinez’s death to be clarified and for those responsible to be punished. “I hope that everything is cleared up quickly as a mother and citizen and that the agent involved is punished and discharged from the institution,” Arbaje wrote on Twitter. She also stated that the country cannot tolerate similar acts that cause a community to mourn.

“We cannot tolerate something like this, a child is a piece of one’s soul,” the first lady said, referring to the incident last Sunday between Anthony Martinez (Donaly’s father) and a National Police agent, which resulted in the minor’s death after he was shot in the head by a stray bullet that allegedly came from the rifle of a member of the uninformed.

In the case, the head of the uniformed police, Eduardo Alberto Then, appointed a commission to investigate the case, as well as ordered the arrest of the agents acting on the scene, which was recorded in Calle Mella, in the Santiago province.
