High Court rules to keep U.S.-extraditable behind bars

Santo Domingo.- The Supreme Court Criminal Chamber on Monday ruled to keep Miguel Antonio Rosa Ureña (El Gato) behind bars, who is sought in extradition on drug trafficking charges in Massachusetts, U.S.

Justices Miriam German, Esther Agelán, Juan Hirohito Reyes, Frank Soto and Alejandro Moscoso, ruled against a request by defense attorney, Jaime Caonabo Terrero.

The court ruled that in Rosa Ureña’s case the 12-month pretrial detention complies with the Penal Procedure.
