A married couple is found dead in their residence

On Monday, the corpses of a married couple were discovered in their residence located in Los Roa, a district in the municipality of Neyba, Bahoruco province. The couple was identified as Franklin Cuevas, 45, and Rosa Medina, 36, both with multiple stab wounds. After being retrieved by the forensic doctor and other officials, the corpses were sent to the National Institute of Forensic Sciences in Azua for an autopsy.

The National Police reported that it is examining the case to determine the circumstances surrounding the couple’s death. The authorities suspect that unknown individuals murdered the couple to steal an undisclosed amount of money that Franklin Cuevas had supposedly won two days before in a cockfighting match.

The Central Investigation Directorate (Dicrim) of the Neyba Police Department, working alongside the Public Ministry, is investigating the dual homicide in order to identify and capture the culprits.
