Registration open for digital woman program in Dominican Republic promoting female participation in knowledge economy

Santo Domingo.- The “Digital Woman” program is now accepting registrations for free technical training aimed at empowering young women in Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Central America, and other participating countries. Developed by Junior Achievement Americas and the IDB Group innovation laboratory (IDB-Lab), the program aims to promote female participation in the knowledge economy.

Participants will have the opportunity to acquire technical skills in areas such as coding, web development, cloud computing, and cybersecurity. The program also provides life skills training and support for the transition to employment. Eligible women between the ages of 17 and 30 with completed secondary education can register at www.jamujerdigital.org. Scholarships covering the program’s costs are available. The initiative has garnered support from strategic partners, including Cemex Dominicana. The goal is to empower women who are not currently enrolled in higher education or lack stable formal employment. The program also aims to include women from minority groups and ethnic communities.

Junior Achievement Americas, a leading youth-serving NGO, prepares young people for future employment opportunities through financial education and entrepreneurship. IDB Lab, the IDB Group’s innovation laboratory, promotes inclusive innovation in Latin America and the Caribbean. The program aligns with its mission to improve lives and conditions for vulnerable populations.
