Dominican Republic’s Culture Ministry allows KKK in Carnaval

Santo Domingo.- Dominican Republic’s Ministry of Culture authorized the participation of a troupe donning garb characteristic of members of the racist organization Ku Klux Klan, and paraded at the Santo Domingo Carnaval on Sunday.

The Ku Klux Klan, which surged in the 19th century, promotes white supremacy and violence toward black Americans, including lynchings.

Local media report that during the parade staged at the Malecon the KKK “members” carried a poster with the number 51 and the Ministry of Culture logo.
