Foreigners issued deadline to renew expired cedulas

SANTO DOMINGO.- The Central Electoral Board (JCE) issued a deadline to all foreigners resident in the country, and whose respective cedula is expired, to renew them by paying the fee.

It said in addition to the current cost a 1,000 peso surcharge will be charged, regardless of how long they’ve had the ID card.

The JCE said the term will be in effect starting next Tuesday, January 25 and until April 30, adding that it will suspend the ID of the foreigners who don’t renew during that period.
