Antinarcotics Agency ready to hunt down Santiago’s traffickers

Santiago.- National Drugs Control Agency (DNCD) president Rolando Rosado Friday warned the foreign criminals in the country, especially those who live the North zone, that they’re being hunted down and will not be allowed to escape.

He said intelligence work has been conducted in this city in pursuit of foreign drug traffickers in coordination with other agencies, and called on society to be aware of the authorities’ imminent actions which could unleash repercussions against the entities which fight those criminals as well as the micro-traffickers.

Mateo, speaking in a meeting with Santiago opinion leaders and media representatives, said with a total of 105 agents and more than a dozen vehicles, the DNCD is going to continue dealing hard blows against drug trafficking in Santiago. “A part of the drug that arrives in Dominican Republic comes here to Santiago because of its privileged position and part of that stays behind as commission charged by the dealers when this substance crosses through and that drug remains as the narco-pocket change, in other words the local change.”

In the meeting also participated Interior and Police minister Jose Fadul, Police chief José Polanco, governor Raul Martinez, prosecutor Jenny B. Reynoso and other police and government officials
