Public Health’s “cavalry” battles chikungunya fever at Boca Chica

Santo Domingo.- The Public Health Ministry has deployed Friday its entire “cavalry” to fumigate the of Boca Chica, as the rising cases of chikungunya fever has panicked the resort town‘s population .

Alcibiades Hernández Health Ministry official in Boca Chica heads the operation to fumigate and remove trash in all of the tow’s 11 sectors.

The work comes after doctors at Boca Chica’s public hospital sounded the alarm over the large number of people diagnosed with chikungunya.

Several technicians equipped with fumigation equipment as well as 500 government workers at Boca Chica are taking part in the effort.
