Properties worth millions seized from kingpins to auction

Santo Domingo.- Properties worth hundreds of millions of dollars seized from drug kingpins José Figueroa Agosto and Quirino Paulino will be auctioned 10am Thursday at the Justice Ministry, including 9 luxury condos worth more than RD$120 million located in upscale sectors of the capital.

Also on the block will be the houses No. 5 at La Ceiba St., Bella Vista, with a first bid of RD$44.8 million; Las Margaritas No. 14, at the sector Brisas del Canal, at RD$6.9 million; two lots and a house in Bani for a total of RD$47.1 million.

Also on auction will be five lots in Bani worth more than RD$1.2 million and 14 luxury cars seized from Figueroa’s network, worth more than RD$18.0 million.

The auction will include a catamaran valued at US$225,000, seized in the east region, where a group pleaded guilty to charges of money laundering.
