Dominican shopkeepers on high alert for robbery wave

New York.- A surge in robberies has sparked concerns among Dominican shopkeepers  in the Bronx, United States, who now fear for their safety due to the escalating crime rates.

One small business owner expressed skepticism regarding the effectiveness of proposed solutions, stating, “The governor offered five million dollars to install cameras in all these businesses, but that is not enough to deter crime. What they should focus on is reforming the bail laws.”

According to police statistics, assaults targeting small businesses saw a 22% rise last year compared to 2022.
