MSC Cruceros bets on Puerto Plata with its newest ship

Puerto Plata – MSC Cruises is bringing its newest ship, MSC World America, to Miami to sail the Caribbean. The cruise ship will set sail for its inaugural season on April 12, 2025, on a 7-day itinerary.

MSC World America will sail the eastern and western Caribbean in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic; San Juan, Puerto Rico; Costa Maya and Cozumel, Mexico; Roatan Island, Honduras; and the Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve in The Bahamas.

Puerto Plata continues to establish itself as an increasingly captivating tourist destination in the Caribbean, attracting not only international visitors but also cruise ships that recognize the beauty and potential of the jewel of the northern region.

MSC World America will be MSC Cruises’ first ship in the U.S. market powered by LNG. It is also the second of the boats specially designed for North American guests, with restaurants, bars, and unique experiences that seamlessly blend European design with American comfort.

Ruben A. Rodriguez, president of MSC Cruises USA, said, “There is no better place to welcome MSC World America than the cruise capital of the world. We look forward to seeing her set sail from our state-of-the-art cruise terminal built in partnership with Miami-Dade County and PortMiami.”
