Colleagues call for search for missing doctor

Santiago – The Dominican Medical Association and the Dominican Society of Neonatology (Sodone) demanded from the authorities more emphasis and action in the search for Dr. Antonio Espinal Suero. The doctor is a resident of the Villa Olga sector of Santiago de los Caballeros.

Dr. Santiago Martinez, president, called on the police authorities to give a quick response as to the whereabouts of the doctor, who has been missing since Tuesday night, according to his sister. Martinez expressed “as a representative of the external Sodone, the concern for the disappearance of one of our doctors and we join and put ourselves at the disposal of the family to find Dr. Espinal,” explained the neonatologist.

The missing person provides services as a perinatologist at the José Francisco Peña Gómez Maternity and Children’s Hospital in Mao, Valverde province.

The president of the Dominican Medical Association, Dr. Waldo Ariel Suero , demanded that the director of the National Police, Major General Ramon Antonio Guzman, increase his efforts to find the doctor. The doctor left his residence last Tuesday at 10:30 p.m. with some friends. Since then he has not been heard from again. His relatives, colleagues and friends are very worried and hope that nothing has happened to him.
