Survey reveals 92% of Dominican Republic tourists plan to return

Santo Domingo.- A recent Mitur survey reveals that 92% of tourists visiting the Dominican Republic plan to return, highlighting high satisfaction with their experiences. Conducted between January and July 2024, the survey involved 248,973 respondents and covered aspects such as satisfaction, destinations, trip planning, social media use, and gastronomy.

Among over 48,000 evaluations, tourists engaged in activities such as visiting Saona Island (15%), snorkeling (12%), Four Wheel rides (11%), exploring the Colonial Zone (7%), and horseback riding (4%). Additionally, 80% of tourists expressed interest in repeating the activities they enjoyed. Accommodation preferences showed that 78% stayed in hotels, while 8% stayed with friends or relatives, another 8% rented short-term accommodations, 4% used their own places, and 2% were timeshare guests. An impressive 96% of visitors said they would choose the same accommodation again.

The most frequented destinations included Punta Cana (40%), Santo Domingo (19%), Puerto Plata (13%), La Romana (11%), Samaná (8%), Santiago (7%), and Barahona (2%). Over 93% of tourists expressed a desire to revisit their chosen destination.
