Free Trade Zone exports hit record high in July 2024

Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Association of Free Trade Zones (ADOZONA) announced a record-setting performance for free trade zone exports in July 2024, reaching $783.84 million. This marks an 11.6% increase from July 2023, when exports totaled $702.61 million, according to preliminary data from the General Directorate of Customs (DGA).

Overall exports for July 2024 also saw a notable rise of 13.2%, totaling $1,162.10 million compared to $1,026.23 million in the same month last year. ADOZONA attributes this growth to the strong performance of free zones and a significant increase in national exports.

Free zone exports reached a cumulative total of $5,041.63 million by July 2024, reflecting a 7.5% increase from $4,690.54 million in the previous year. If the current growth trend persists, annual free zone exports could surpass $8,500 million by year-end.
