Haiti.- U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken is scheduled to visit Haiti in the coming days, where he will meet with Presidential Transitional Council Chairman Edgard Leblanc Fils and Prime Minister Garry Conille. According to Haitian media, including Le Nouvelliste and Radio Télé Métronome, Blinken’s visit is expected to take place on September 5.

Blinken’s visit is significant as he plays a key role in shaping Haiti’s political transition, particularly in forming the CPT-PM partnership. His mission includes addressing the deployment of international troops and securing funding commitments that have yet to be fulfilled.

This visit follows concerns raised by a group of prominent Caricom figures about the challenges in establishing a new government after the assassination of former President Jovenel Moïse in July 2021.
