Four Colombians arrested for vehicle break-ins at shopping centers

Santo Domingo.- Officers from the Central Investigation Directorate (DICRIM) arrested four Colombian nationals for breaking into vehicles parked at various plazas and shopping centers in Santo Domingo and the National District. The suspects, Alexander Calixto Martínez, Luis Fernando Amaya Gutiérrez, Isabel Flores Petrel, and Carlos Ramírez Alzate, all have criminal records in Colombia.

The group was apprehended on the El Coral highway, Higüey-Punta Cana section, while traveling in a 2012 black Kia Sportage. During a search of the vehicle, authorities found stolen items including perfumes, a wallet, a laptop, two bank cards, a backpack, a men’s bag, RD$13,000, 600 Mexican pesos, and US$27.

These items had been reported stolen from vehicles in Greater Santo Domingo and the National District. The suspects and the evidence have been handed over to the Public Prosecutor’s Office for legal proceedings.
