European tourist arrivals to the Dominican Republic increase

Santo Domingo.- Tourism in the Dominican Republic has seen significant growth, particularly from long-distance markets like Spain, Germany, and Italy, in addition to strong contributions from traditional sources such as the United States and Canada.

According to statistics from the Ministry of Tourism (Mitur), November 2024 saw steady increases in arrivals from foreign visitors and Dominicans living abroad. The country welcomed 13,488 Germans, 9,518 Poles, and 2,223 Swiss nationals, along with 176,006 Americans, 104,414 Dominicans, and 93,454 Canadians.

The growth in long-distance tourism is attributed to Mitur’s sustainable management, which emphasizes the Dominican Republic’s environment and security to attract international visitors.
